Can the docking station be placed in a non-lawn area, such as under an awning or in a garage?

You can install the docking station on the non-grassy area. But it's not recommended to place it under an awning or in a garage.
There are some tips when you select the location of docking station:
1. It is recommended to approach the area with good RTK signal as close as possible, the distance is less than 7 m(22.97 ft).
2. For better positioning, do not place the docking station in a narrow passageway. Ensure that there are no objects (e.g. trees or houses) within 40 cm(1.31 ft) on either side and 2m(6.6 ft) in front of the docking station.
3. It is recommended that the docking station is placed on a lawn with a flat area and wide visibility, and secured to the ground with the provided nails to prevent the station from moving.
4. It is not recommended to place the base station in a place that is shielded by trees or roofs.
(The position of the charging station can be judged by the light indicator of the RTK Reference Station when the GOAT is charging in the base station. If the blue light is steady on which means the RTK signal is good, the position of the charging station is appropriate. )
