Why did GOAT miss a certain region?
Updated on 2026/01/28
(1) Verify if temporary obstacles are blocking the GOAT's path. Areas with obstacles smaller than 1m in diameter will not be re-mowed during this session.
(2) Check if AI Recognition is enabled in the app settings. This mode may occasionally cause false obstacle avoidance.
(3) Verify if the obstacle avoidance height selected in the app is set too low, causing missed cuts due to false avoidance.
(4) GOAT's obstacle clearance height is 4cm (based on lab data). It cannot traverse steps or surfaces exceeding this height.
(5) GOAT cannot cut grass taller than 12cm. Excessively tall grass may be identified as an obstacle. Ensure lawn grass is trimmed below 10cm.
(6) GOAT cannot climb slopes steeper than 27° (50%). We recommend installing physical barriers (height > 20cm) around slopes steeper than 27° (50%) and areas with pits.
(7) If narrow paths less than 0.9m wide exist on the map (including gaps between outer boundaries and restricted zones, or between restricted zones), GOAT will traverse them as passable paths. It cannot perform full bow-shaped mowing in these areas; use the edge-trimming function for trimming along edges.
Alternatively, you can manually control GOAT via the app to retrim or trim these missed areas; If missed areas contain tall grass, dandelions, or wildflowers, this may occur because ToF identifies these as obstacles. Use the "Low Obstacle Avoidance Zone" feature in Map Editor to mark these areas, preventing GOAT from avoiding them due to obstacle detection.【May OTA】
If your lawn is completely divided by gravel/pebble paths, the mower may avoid these paths to prevent getting stuck, potentially leaving another area inaccessible. Use the "Low Obstacle Zone" feature in Map Editor to mark these areas as "Passable Restricted Zones." GOAT will traverse these zones less frequently, reducing the chance of getting stuck.【May OTA】
