Why does the AIVI function sometimes fail to recognize objects?
Updated on 2020/07/15
a) The AI can currently recognize: shoes, slippers, socks, cleaning pads, electrical cords, the charging dock and floor mats. AIVI will be capable of recognizing additional objects in future software upgrades. Therefore, please upgrade your unit in a timely manner through the ECOVACS Home App to ensure the unit has the latest functions.
i. When the AI recognizes shoes, slippers, socks, cleaning pads, electrical cords and the charging dock, it will avoid them (The robot may bump into the objects slightly, this is normal).
ii. When the AI recognizes floor mats, it will carefully roll over them. The robot does its best to clean the entire floor while avoiding getting stuck.
b) AIVI is best able to recognize objects in a well-lit environment. Dim lighting will significantly affect this function. For the best performance, use the AIVI function during the daytime or turn on the room lights. However, natural light will not affect the robot's use of DTOF to plan its cleaning. It will only potentially affect AIVI recognition.
c) The environment and shapes of target objects in some households are unusual. This can change AIVI's object recognition rate, and there is a small possibility that it will be prevent AIVI from recognizing any objects at all. We recommend setting up virtual walls to isolate certain areas. In addition, for the best recognition results, we recommend staying on top of the latest firmware updates and promptly upgrading your unit via the ECOVACS Home App.
d) Try wiping the camera lens with a soft cloth to keep it clean and unobstructed.
e) When the camera lens cover is in place, the camera will be covered and the AIVI function will not work.
